Here is our performance of “Shalom” by Dan Forrest, recorded live on May 23, 2025 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church during our “Refuge: Songs of Peace and Hope” concert.With a title that means “peace” in Hebrew, “Shalom” is both a blessing and a benediction—offering calm reassurance through rich harmonies, lyrical phrasing, and a sense of gentle closure. The music is deeply expressive, with the piano providing a foundation of warmth and movement, while the violin weaves in and out like a voice of consolation.We were honored to be joined by two guest artists in this performance: Michelle Boone (violin), a junior at Bishop Lynch High School; and Ben Baldwin (piano), the organist for Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington and Ghanaian Community Presbyterian Church in Irving.🎥 🎧 Watch the video below. ... Making his debut with Inspirata, pianist Benjamin Baldwin will join us for our May 17th and 23rd performances of “Refuge: Songs of Peace and Hope.” We’re thrilled to begin this new collaboration and look forward to performing with him.Read on to learn more about Benjamin in his bio below!Benjamin Baldwin is a pianist, organist, and clarinetist based in Dallas. He has appeared on WFAA’s Good Morning Texas and the Music on Mockingbird Concert Series, as well as with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra and the Meadows Wind Ensemble. Currently the organist for Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington and Ghanaian Community Presbyterian Church in Irving, he also maintains an active teaching studio of all ages. We’re pleased to welcome back percussionist Nathan Rearick, who will be joining us for our May 17th and 18th performances of “Refuge: Songs of Peace and Hope.” Nathan last performed with us during our “Light & Shadow” concerts in 2023, and we’re thrilled to have him return for this program.Read on to learn more about Nathan in his bio below!Nathan Rearick is an active percussion educator and performer. He has traveled across the nation sharing his passion of music with the world and has built quite a reputation in the percussive arts. Nathan graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree, and the University of Alabama with a master’s degree, both in Percussion Performance. During his undergraduate, he was fortunate enough travel to the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) with the UNT Tenor Ensemble in 2015 and 2016, and the UNT Snare Ensemble in 2017, placing 1st all three times. He also performed with UNT Percussion ensemble, who was the winner of the Percussive Arts Society Call for Tapes and traveled to perform at PASIC in 2016. During his time in graduate school, he performed in the UA percussion ensemble, which was named the winner of 2020 Percussive Arts Society Call for Tapes. He also received 1st place in the individual snare competition in his division for PASIC 2020. In 2021, Nathan was a Semi-finalist in the Modern Snare Drum Competition. He has had the privilege of being taught by some of the great minds of percussion, including Paul Rennick, Mark Ford, Christopher Deane, Poovilar Sriji, Tyler Orbison, Andrew Lynge, Kevin Welborn, and Daniel Allen. During his studies, Nathan spent two summers traveling across the United States with Drum Corps International (DCI), one with the Troopers in 2016 and one with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2017. While marching with SCV, the percussion section won the Fred Sanford award for best percussion performance. He has also spent three winters performing in Winter Guard International (WGI) with Vigilantes Indoor Percussion (VIP). In 2016, VIP took home the gold by placing 1st in their division. Beyond his studies, Nathan has been involved with multiple performing ensembles across the DFW area. He has performed with Dynamic Rhythm Entertainment (DRE), which encompasses many drumlines in DFW, including the Dallas Mavericks drumline, FC Dallas drumline, and the Cutting Edge Haunted House drumline. While performing, Nathan has made a living teaching percussion. He has taught at several schools in the DFW area including Saginaw HS, Southlake Carroll HS, and Lebanon Trail HS. While in grad school, Nathan helped teach the Million Dollar Band Drumline both years of his masters. After aging out, Nathan has taught Troopers, Music City DC, and Guardians. Currently, Nathan is on tour with the EDM artist ODESZA and their drumline. When Nathan isn’t performing or teaching, he enjoys reading, and watching basketball. Go Mavs! ... See MoreSee Less

We’re excited to welcome back pianist Clinton Bray for our May 18th performance of “Refuge: Songs of Peace and Hope.” A familiar face to some of our audience, Clinton brings both artistry and heart to every collaboration. Past programs with Clinton as guest pianist and/or organist include “Noël!” (2023) and “Rest & Peace” concert featuring Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem (2023). We’re honored to share the stage with him once again.Scroll down to read more about Clinton in his bio!Clinton Bray earned a Bachelor of Music degree in organ performance and a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the University of North Texas under the tutelages of Dr. Lenora McCroskey and Dr. Jerry McCoy, respectively. Acclaimed by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram as “an excellent organist” for his “impressive execution” and “interesting sounds,” he has performed as organist and pianist with a myriad of North Texas area ensembles and has given solo organ performances throughout Texas and as far off as Wallingford, England. Mr. Bray is currently the Organist and Associate Music Director at University Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, as well as the Principal Accompanist for the Arts District Chorale in Dallas. ...
